Another post which I rather keep here than on my blog...
The SASS Land was once again invaded by strange creatures yesterday when a swarm of strange Giant Goldfish comes from the seas and begin to tag and follow local residents including myself. We have no idea where the goldfishes are from but information from reliable sources indicates that the goldfish may have been escapees from the Japanese Summer Fest and they must had thought there is food in SASS Land (Actually there is probably). I caught a glimpse of their invasion as their floats over the grassland near the western end of SASS Land.
Before I knew what was going on, one of the goldfish grab Lola and I couldn't do anything except watching it pulls her away... I was so worried that the goldfish will gobble Lola alive...
I gave chase and try to shoot the goldfish down (Forgive me SPCA), but I was worried about taking the shot and hitting Lola instead.... The goldfish was arrogant and in fact at some point of time gave me a stupid look mocking me by staring into my eyes (Does goldfish stare? Beats me...)
Then before I could ready my Primus Bow (Because I had changed to a Claw Gauntlet recently...) The goldfish turns and floats away with our dear Lola as she struggles and kicks in the air...
In fact it got really out of hand that the goldfish even rises high up with Lola in its mouth. I managed to chase it by rushing up the hill nearby. To make things worse, the fish is shaking Lola up so much that her silks are dropping off one by one and it was at the critical point I had to make a hard decision to take the shot or not. At that rate, Lola will have nothing much left to drop and I will soon lose sight of Lola and the goldfish will go out of range. I knew it was then or never, but I was also really worried that I either hit Lola or made the goldfish drop her onto hard ground. I probably will not be fast enough to catch her as she falls. But extreme time require extreme measures. I knew I had to take the shot...
I close one of my eyes and aim hard at the goldfish. Its big, I knew I couldn't miss it, but the winds were high and I could even feel it slaps against my face as loose pieces of grass begins to whirl in the air... I knew the shot is going to be one of the most difficult that I will attempt and I knew I only have one shot at it. The longbow is shaking hard in my left hand as I pluck the arrow and pulls it back. An imaginary crosshair visualized before me as I take my aim, but the sweat from my forehead is dripping down soaking my eyebrow and flowing down onto my eyes. As the salted sweat drops into my eyes, I tried hard not to blink, but my vision begins to blur as I start to loses focus of Lola and the goldfish.
Suddenly my teacher words echo in my mind. "Trust your heart. The true-sight lies in your soul, not in your eyes..." Gently, I shut my opened eye and relaxed on my arrow. In the darkness within my mind, suddenly there was a light and then visions of nothing else. Just my arrow tip and the target.... I open my eyes as I release the fletching of the arrow as I see the arrowtip spins in circle towards the goldfish. Immediately I draws the grapple shot from my pouch and mount it quickly on my bow. As the goldfish releases Lola from the sky, I fire the grapple below her projected path and pray I would catch her in time... Or I will have to live with the guilt of whatever happen to her...
The goldfish is shot down and trapped on the well below as it struggles to be free. Lola is safe and sound. We spend hours chasing and pushing the goldfish back to the sea, hoping they make their long journey to their home. I feel so tired that I just wanted to lie down and sleep, legs and arm stretched wide on my bed, semi naked as I throw my cape and shirt onto the chair nearby.
Just when I was about to close my eyes and doze off, my hamster squeals as a cloud forms above me in midair and a familiar shape materialize in front of me and falls right onto me before I could jump up and catch hold of her...
